Two colleagues and I had a day off of work and decided to hit the Bay of Green Bay/Little Sturgeon Bay for some awesome ice fishing. We left the Milwaukee area round 5:00 AM and drove through a pretty major snow storm and arrived at our fishing grounds around sunrise (after getting some waxies of course at the bait shop).
We had an absolute blast, each catching our 10-fish limit! Xai who was our "guide" of the day is a pro at targeting and jigging for these whitefish. Derek (a very good fisherman) and I were both on the bay's ice and targeting whitefish for the very first time.
Once home and filleted, I fried in a cast-iron pan with Shore Lunch beer batter and served with home-made tarter sauce. Fresh meal that tasted excellent and fed the family! Uncooked fillets were vacuum-sealed and put in the freezer for another day.
Below is a video Xai put together from the trip!
